Queer Joy Interview #4: Eric
Eric (They/Them) and I met on 6/20/2024 in Tyler, TX to talk about local LGBT+ groups, transitioning, and community.
“Saturday is my two-year Testosterone anniversary. Pre-HRT, I had a lot of depression, anxiety issues, and essentially, a week on T, and it all disappeared. So, fuck yeah, the best thing in the world.
I do stained glass for funsies. [These are] going to be thank you gifts for some people who helped me fund my top surgery.
I know that there are people who only show up to pride and don’t show up to anything else in the year, but I really think just going into a room full of other queers is so fucking helpful… you meet some amazing people. Just remember when you go to events that everyone you meet there is a whole human and it's gonna be so awesome.
[What's] really helped heal my relationship with anything feminine is hanging out with trans women and how excited they get at things like painting their nails. Their relationship with feminine things is so different than everything I've ever had. So that's been really nice to see and feel… It really solidifies how silly some agenda stuff is and then it feels like I have reached a new pinnacle of gender understanding.”
